No!
It rankled within her, all the junk mail that was thrown into her. As soon as she stopped walking, people started to stuff her. Lately, on New Year's Eve, she even got a burning firecracker thrown into her.
It was as if they wanted to make her green with envy with these screaming newspapers full of lunatic offers, and other materials. She didn't understand. Until today, when she took the mail from the mailbox and a wet paper was jammed in the slot.
Yes, to stop the personalized mailboxterror Fatima needs to go to the district office. That way she will get some air again.

Obsolescence?
The Netherlands is aging. According to the CBS population forecast the number of people over 65 will rise from 2.5 million in 2010 to a peak of 4.5 million in 2040. Nearly half the population will suffer from a dusty, on or eaten bare head. Similarly Fatima. But, unlike her Dutch peers, Fatima will still look as young and beautifull as her two daughters. The only thing that will distinguish her from her two daughters is her walker; with which - to promote her career - she can simply turn herself around. Yes, when the bags of the Dutch will be emptied, the bags of Fatima will be filled. After integration comes re-integration.

Transparency
Besides practical they are particularly very hip, these airy summer burkas. Moreover, they spill the beans about a world that would normally be hidden. And that's good! Transparency is a key concept in a multicultural society. Thus, she never will be surprised and can anticipate well.
This hip, airy summer burkas are available in 3 variations; depending on the nature of its bearer. There is one with a fine mesh for the naughty Fatima, one with bold openings for the courageous Fatima and one with a more revealing nature for the sluttish Fatima.
All for the very attractive cost of only 49 euros.

Penal labour
Happy, Zohra is, that she and her husband Youssef have reached agreement on the big, long stick that she never sees coming. It will only be used on a viable way in the future. From today Zohra may use the stick more or less herself. Once she commits adultery or can't leave the large glass of cold beer when she is visiting her sister, she will be no longer beaten as a rusty nail into the concrete floor, but, just like her three sons, firmly put to work for a few days. That way the neighborhood remains silent and the streets will be clean.

Stamp one's foot
Because men like Geert Wilders the sober but timid Dutch get incited and filled with resentment. As peace-loving nation they suddenly get a stamp put upon by people that they nota bene qualify as unpleasant themselfs.

Scapegoat
He who has always been everywhere: the scapegoat. Even today he shows his best side, stands proudly with his chest forward, steadfast in his opinion and indisputable standing in the right place; namely as the necessary consequence of a multicultural society that, despite, or precisely because the Internet is subject to a far-reaching individualization. Where previously the Jewish community was taken for a ride, it is nowadays in general use to drink a maximum of Muslims under the table.

Who is it?
It doesn't matter how you look at it, it remains a mystery who's behind it. Even if you turn them inside out with questions, it appears to be an impossible task. Games are fun, indeed, until they are forced upon you.

Depthcore
Pleased I am, that after almost one and a half year I was able to assert in the leading, progressive art and design collective Depthcore again. In this closed group of warm hearted creatives I feel like home. Indeed, where the door is always open for me, the walls are polychromed, the interior decorated in proportion and the windows widely covered, bright and unscratched. Yes, an inspiring wind it is, exhaled there. It interacts the mind and spirit in a both productive and creative way.
For her latest exhibition, called Eve, I made three intriguing pictures: The whistleblower, Good year, and Off the (Chinese) wall. On the basis of an interesting theme, which includes the following topics: the night before, calm before the storm, darkness, the moment before impact, nightfall, transition, and change, I went, in my capacity as artistist, once again to its utmost.
Off the (Chinese)wall
As the Western economy appears to recover somewhat, the 'American dream' revives. The question is, however, whether the gaping wounds that this recession has left behind will heal in time and whereupon they can offer resistance to an economy that seems to have no problems at all and seems to be on a spraying trip, or continue to split open; situating us in an hostile enviroment where even a cup of noodles, which will be present in large numbers in our supermarkets by then, is way too expensive.
Good year
First of all this image represents the Dutch proverb 'Wie de bal kaatst, moet hem verwachten' which literally translates: 'He who throws the ball, must expect it [back]' and means: 'Expect the repercussions of your actions'. Hereby I have chosen 'muslim bashing' as the principal theme.
Besides that this image is a hint to the burqa an sich; by what I imply on disapproving suppression.
The Dutch peasant girl, Eveline, laughs not so much at muslims, but rather the burqa which has mainly a symbolic function in this picture(supression).
All of the above is based on the perspective of a nagging but 'honest' man, Geert Wilders.
De klokkenluider(the Whistleblower)
Her name is Eve, her profession whistleblower. Haughty as a swan she paves herself through the night on her way to church; a risky undertaking.
But once she has arrived there she just has to climb a single stairs, then she is save and she can do her announcement with the beat of a drum. And that is needed in times of crisis. Yes, even if it's efficient and/or lucrative, a lie has no legs for Eve. She is always on top of the naked truth. After she rings the bell, injustice is like a rat in a trap.
She is the only one that can accomplsh such a dangerous task surreptitiously. Under the guidance of God she doesn't have be afraid of retaliation. Moreover it is a woman, a young woman, a girl, Eve, an angel!

Bait
Some of us seem to have a tough job to the veiled others. They are in the assumption that Muslims are the cause of all their problems. They forget one thing, however. Because even if that be the case, even though Muslims provoke one another with their "strange" habits, those obtuse agrarians still have to blame themselfs for their misery; for it is they, themselves, who rise to the bait after which.

Persistent
Through four guy ropes and four tent pegs the search for a new residence will be superfluous. The money saved for emigration can now be put into the economy. Firmness is important, not only in faith, but also in residence. Moreover, complex problems ask for simple solutions in times of crisis.

Valentine
November 9, 1989: the fall of the Berlin Wall; a wall that symbolized the cold war and the division of Germany. It was an unforgettable day, but unfortunately a day further away from touch. A different division seems to be gaining ground nowadays, also between the east and west, only on a much larger scale.
Duo to this difference in weltanschauung we are moving away from each other, increasingly throwing a wall where no one can get through, around or over. A nice metaphor for this individualization proces is the from origine Japanese TV show Hole in the wall - a game show where the participants have to make use of their wits in seconds to assume the position that will allow them to fit through the opening(s).
This game show was a starting point for the following illustrations, entitled Hole in the Wall 001 and Hole in the Wall 002.

Valentine
The mailbox: a garish bright red object that dispatches everthing, but mostly bitter misery. Although, fortunately, all is not doom and gloom this plastic slurry pit swallows. Around this time of year his food is sweetened and well prepared, with love.
Valentine: a good time to reflect the love for each other; other people; the citizens. Yes, that includes muslims. To force to this idea, I designed an illustration entitled: Valentine.
